Choosing to have a family photography session with Silk Imagery is much more than lining up for a few posed “happy snaps”.
My wish for you is that through my style and approach which includes a blend of curated naturally posed photographs and more candid moments between you and your loved ones, I will celebrate the special bonds that you all share.
In the lead up to your session, I’d love to learn more about your children and a few of their favourite things so I can get to know them as part of our time together.
As a mum to four young children, I know how challenging it can be to have everyone ready and happy. My wish is for you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible while I capture lots of love, lots of laughter, lots of cuddles and maybe a few tickles thrown in as well.
Do you have a special place that means something to you all as a family and would like your session to be on your own property? Perhaps you’d like for me to choose a location for your children to explore the great outdoors…
It’s all about documenting this moment in time in a way that you want to remember it the most.

- Family sessions are very relaxed and take place in the morning or outdoors late afternoon/evening. You can expect a combination of naturally posed family shots, some un-posed portraits of your kids and some magical in-between moments.
- A small travel charge may apply if located more than 50km from my Albury/Wodonga base.
Children/Baby Milestone (On Location – One Child) $410
45-minute session with one child at a location of your choice or one near you

- Children and baby milestone sessions are wonderful for families wishing to continue to document a child’s growth through imagery, but would like a smaller number of images and without family images included. We can chat about the inclusion of a few props too.

Your top questions answered!
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, gift vouchers for a photography session are a lovely present. These can be given for any amount towards a package, or a package in full, and are gift wrapped for special delivery.
How much direction do you give?
I give enough direction for you to feel comfortable, but not so much as for you to feel forced or posed. I aim for sessions to be comfortable and natural and an enjoyable experience. I really make sure I place you all in the best light and will give some tips of how to stand and sit to look your best and to suit the location we are in.
Where are you based?
I live in Albury, however I travel throughout the Riverina and North East Victoria region for shoots, so please enquire if you have a special location in mind for a session.
What should we wear for our session?
I always suggest wearing clothes you will feel comfortable, happy and beautiful in. You want to look at the photos and remember the love, experience and joy. Stay true to your family when choosing your wardrobe, but I suggest choosing a palette of 3 to 4 colours and/or tones that go together cohesively but without being too ‘matchy matchy’. I always suggest avoiding bold colours and patterns that will detract from your faces, and large logos and writing on shirts and tops can also be distracting and difficult to photograph.
What should we bring to the photo shoot?
I always suggest making sure everyone has been fed before the photo shoot, but it is always a great idea to bring some snacks and drinks. Aim for food that won’t be too sticky or might mark clothing too much. I suggest bringing a change of clothing for children in case if possible, and perhaps some wipes. You may also wish to bring along some special items your children love if you would like these included in some images.
What happens if it rains, or what if my child is sick?
Both these situations would not make for the best photos. That is not good for either of us. Please let me know as soon as you are aware of any reason the session may not go as planned and I am more than happy to reschedule.
Are you insured and do you have relevant working with children’s checks?
I have a current NSW Working with Children’s Check and I have $20 million public liability cover. Mine and my family’s vaccinations are all up-to-date.
Do you share photos on your website and social media?
I will ask you at the time of your session if you are happy for me to share your images. I am respectful that some families may not feel comfortable with me sharing their photographs, so it is always your choice and completely up to you.
When will we receive our gallery?
I hope to have family images completed within 3 to 4 weeks (often much quicker).
